Real Grubbin is an effort to change the way all of us think about food and its preparation. Our mission is to help others nurture a healthier and happier lifestyle by doing the following:

  • Publishing and testing great recipes composed of whole, healthful ingredients.
  • Offering tips, guides and advice on several subjects such as cooking techniques and selecting produce.
  • Giving honest kitchen product reviews of the things we have found to be helpful in our own cooking.
  • Providing insight on various fitness and exercise programs that support better health and well-being.

Our Recipes

Real Grubbin’s collection of recipes are centered around the principles found in the Paleo Diet (by Loren Cordain) and the Primal Blueprint (by Mark Sisson). For those unfamiliar with these books, we’ll cover the basic ideas of the diet. The authors detail their theory that we are biologically very similar to primitive man, but modern man eats nothing like primitive man. Thus, they advise a strict reevaluation of the foods and ingredients that we consume and propose eliminating many of the things that our ancestors never ate as they evolved. Some of the foods you should avoid on the paleo diet: grains, dairy, legumes, starchy vegetables, fatty meats and excessive salt. They assert that several individuals have had various ailments disappear while obtaining optimal health simply by reverting back to a diet consisting primarily of lean proteins, high-fiber produce and other foods packed with nutrients and essential fatty acids.

The folks at Real Grubbin have personally experienced terrific benefits as a result of following the paleo diet. Along with healthy weight loss—we have also noticed a consistently steady energy level that’s elevated beyond what we’ve ever had before. So, we believe these guidelines will help others achieve similar results and improve their general quality of life.
